Dick Hitt, President of the Association, opened the meeting with a greeting and a purpose statement for the Association. The purpose of the Association is: to promote safety and the safe usage of the Whiteplains Aiport; to promote camaraderie among the pilots; and to promote communication within the pilot community.

Old Business:

Dick has split the Action Items into two parts: Active List and a Parking Lot. Old, Completed or Items with no further Actions where put into the Parking Lot. A review of the Action Items revealed that all Open Items are either Closed or moved to the Parking Lot!

New Business:

There was a discussion concerning time, place and frequency of meeting and the confusion about the meetings and times. The group decided to have a March meeting and then go to every other month for meetings. Until further notice these will be held at 7:00 p.m. at John Gardners.

The group decided to sponsor a family outing for the Whiteplains neighborhood. The date was set as April 27, 2002 and will be held at Ray’s hangar. It was decided we should invite some people outside the neighborhood.

Bruce Money – a brief discussion of the communications with Mr. Money and the "horse people" occurred. We decided to stop any further communications unless something else comes up. The "horse people" have no problem with the airport.

Safety:

Dick presented a safety presentation on runway incursion including the recent stats. The number of incursions in S.C. has declined.

Drawing:

Dick presented several sets of FAA manual for door prizes. Winners were Tommy Robbins and Niel Bonacum. Dick won the 50/50 split.

The next Pilots Association meeting will be March 18, 2002 7:00 p.m.
